This quilt was inspired following the murder of 9 church members at the Mother Emmanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Many of the family members forgave Dylan Roof shortly thereafter - others were not so quick to forgive. It reminded me of a scripture regarding the shed blood of Jesus - there could be no redemption of forgiveness. Each red strip represents the 9 persons killed.
